What this skill does

Logs, splits, categorizes and reports spending — daily expenses, shared costs, reimbursements, receipts, project and trip budgets. Use when the user paid for something and wants it recorded, when a bill has to be split and someone told what they owe, when a group trip or shared flat needs settling up, when a client owes money back and the claim has to be assembled, when they ask where their money went or why a category jumped, when a renovation, wedding or trip budget needs a remaining number, when something was paid in another currency, when a refund, deposit or duplicate charge has to be booked, or when the log no longer matches the card statement. Not for net worth or debt planning (`personal-finance-tracker`), zero-based budgeting (`zero-based-budgeting`), subscription inventories (`subscriptions`), issuing invoices (`invoice`), OCR archiving of supplier invoices (`invoices`), payment software (`billing`), or bookkeeping (`accountant`).

How to install Expenses

The easiest path is via the OpenClaw Easy desktop app — one click, no terminal required:

1. Download OpenClaw Easy for macOS or Windows (free, one-click installer, ~30 seconds).
2. Open the in-app Skills panel.
3. Search for expenses and click Install.
4. The skill activates automatically when an incoming message matches its description.

Install from the command line

If you already run the OpenClaw CLI, add Expenses with a single command:

openclaw skills add expenses

This pulls expenses from ClawHub and installs it into ~/.openclaw/skills/expenses/. Restart the OpenClaw gateway afterwards so the new skill is discovered.

How to use Expenses

Once installed, Expenses activates on its own: when an incoming message on WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Feishu or Line matches the skill's description, your OpenClaw agent loads it and runs the workflow. You can also trigger it explicitly by describing the task in chat. No extra configuration is required after install.

Manual install (advanced)

If you prefer manual installation:

1. Click the Download .zip button above to grab expenses-1.0.2.zip directly from our S3 mirror.
2. Unzip into ~/.openclaw/skills/expenses/ (create the directory if it does not exist).
3. Restart OpenClaw Easy (or the OpenClaw CLI gateway) so the new skill is discovered.
