What this skill does

Runs self-directed learning as a system: a curriculum with an exit test, deliberate practice, spaced review, and proof it transferred. Use when someone is teaching themselves a skill or subject with no course and no exam — a language, an instrument, a programming language, a new field at work; when they ask how to learn X, what to learn first, or how long it will honestly take; when months of tutorials produced nothing they can build; when material learned earlier is gone, reviews pile up, or the queue gets skipped for weeks; when progress stalls on a plateau, motivation collapses, or a skill goes rusty after a lapse; when practice feels productive but nothing transfers to real work; when an AI answers so fast that nothing is being learned at all; and when a plan, review schedule, error log, or mastery record has to survive across sessions. Not for teaching a concept in the moment (`learning`), exam and coursework planning (`studying`), or authoring decks (`anki`, `flashcards`).

How to install Learn

The easiest path is via the OpenClaw Easy desktop app — one click, no terminal required:

1. Download OpenClaw Easy for macOS or Windows (free, one-click installer, ~30 seconds).
2. Open the in-app Skills panel.
3. Search for learn and click Install.
4. The skill activates automatically when an incoming message matches its description.

Install from the command line

If you already run the OpenClaw CLI, add Learn with a single command:

openclaw skills add learn

This pulls learn from ClawHub and installs it into ~/.openclaw/skills/learn/. Restart the OpenClaw gateway afterwards so the new skill is discovered.

How to use Learn

Once installed, Learn activates on its own: when an incoming message on WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Feishu or Line matches the skill's description, your OpenClaw agent loads it and runs the workflow. You can also trigger it explicitly by describing the task in chat. No extra configuration is required after install.

Manual install (advanced)

If you prefer manual installation:

1. Click the Download .zip button above to grab learn-1.0.4.zip directly from our S3 mirror.
2. Unzip into ~/.openclaw/skills/learn/ (create the directory if it does not exist).
3. Restart OpenClaw Easy (or the OpenClaw CLI gateway) so the new skill is discovered.
